Benjamin Thomas Haskell Obituary Benjamin (BEN) Thomas Haskell, aka…Benji, Bendawg, Buda, BuddyBear, lil-BIG-Man, 30, of Sedona, Arizona passed away peacefully in the arms of his mother on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021.
Ben was born on December 10th, 1990 in Springfield, Vermont. He moved to Sedona, Arizona in January 2014 and returned to AZ after living in Park City, Utah where his immense talent & lifelong love for snowboarding brought him to work for several years as a Master Ski & Snowboard Technician. During his career, Ben created Gold Medal Winning grinds that are still being used by Olympic Athletes, as well as the young ski & snowboard hopefuls of the future. Besides his love of snowboarding, Ben was passionate about living life to the fullest, which he exhibited in his love for motocross competitions, drag racing, hiking, fishing, camping, off roading, as a Chef and as a musician.
His laughter was infectious and his “BennyBear hugs” were incredible, especially since he always came back for “just one more hug…”. He was devoted to his family & friends, loyal, generous, kind, and always willing to help someone in need. Ben was “Larger than Life” and he will be remembered each day, forever loved and sorely missed by his loved ones and humanity.
He is survived by his mother Robecca~Grace, his sister Makailah, his grandmother Ann, his fur-children Doc & Loki and his father Randy, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews, his 2 Godsons & countless friends from around the world. A charity is being set up in memory of Ben, which will make yearly donations & scholarships to several of Ben’s favorite charities such as, local animal shelters and various organizations that help the less fortunate. There will also be yearly events hosted in his honor such as Park & Pipe Snowboarding events across the US & the World. The prizes awarded will help outfit the children of less fortunate families so that they may purchase snowboard gear for their school-age children, as well as families struggling to front the cost for their children’s olympic dreams.
