Obituary of Samuel Elton White
Samuel Elton White, 85 of Casa Grande, Arizona, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, November 29, 2021.
He was born in Dubuque, Iowa on October 1, 1936 to the late Edward Elton White and Vivian Ann White.
Sam graduated from Dubuque Senior High School Class of 1955. He pursued a degree in Radiology Technology. He graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Radiology Technology Class of 1958
He served our country in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era.
Sam married his bride Marjoe Weller, on June 13, 1959. They spent 62 ½ years of marriage together.
He moved to Casa Grande, Arizona with his wife after 10 years of full time RVing. Prior to that they lived in Medford, Oregon for 32 years.
Sam spent 35 years as a Radiology Department Manager in Wisconsin and Oregon. He also worked at Home Medical as an Oxygen Technician.
In Sam’s free time he was an amateur carpenter and remodeled numerous homes that they lived in. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge of Central Point, Oregon. His son and daughter were active in DeMolay and Job’s Daughters. Sam spent time going to their functions and chaperoning the kids.
He and his wife spent 23 years as avid Gold Wing motorcycle riders. He became the Oregon District Director of Gold Wing. He and his wife advanced to the Region I couple of the year and competed for the International Couple in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They traveled all around the United States on their Gold Wing visiting family and friends.
Sam and a friend organized and led the Rogue Valley A’s Model A Ford local chapter. He also restored many and drove to meets and parades in his 1930 Ford Model A, Deluxe Fourdoor Sedan.
Sam attended the Pinal County Cowboy Church and was baptized on October 11, 2021 before undergoing major back surgery. He loved the country music provided by John Montgomery and his band at the church.
Sam is survived by his wife, Marjoe White; children Brenda (Norma) Perez-White, Bradley (Susan) White; his grandchildren, Bryce, Brandyn, Logan (Kelly), Hailey, Maddison; and great-grandchildren Camden Claire and Rhodes Elton; his sisters Judy (Bob) Rousell and Nancy Gaylor. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Arlo Gaylor.
Sam was be interred at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Marana, Arizona
