Janeice Pennington

Obituary of Janeice Lee Pennington

Janeice Pennington (née Trimbell), 70, of Cornville, Arizona passed away at home on December 29, 2021.  She was born in Long Beach, California in 1951 to Jim and Jerry Trimbell.  Janeice grew up in Bellflower and left to start her family at age 17. She lived in Mississippi, Florida, Idaho, and southern Oregon, where she began a career at GTE and worked her way into management. In the mid-80s, she relocated to the Seattle area, where she lived for almost 20 years. Sensing a deep calling to help others, she became a certified Reiki Master, traveling to the big island of Hawaii and Arizona to lead Reiki classes. She always felt drawn to Hawaii and eventually moved there via a transfer with GTE (now Verizon) in 2001. Janeice retired from Verizon in 2003 and pursued her dream to be a full-time healer. She further immersed herself in massage studies and proudly opened her own Reiki and Massage practice.  Janeice returned to southern California in 2015 to care for her ailing mother until her death in 2019. Janeice always loved Sedona and moved to the area in 2020, where she fulfilled another dream of living near the red rocks and healing energies.

Janeice devoted her later years to healing, using massage, reiki, craniosacral, crystals, biofeedback and voltage therapy. She also held a variety of other interests. As a gifted photographer, she regularly shared stunning images of people and places she lived and visited throughout her life. She became ordained and married several close friends and family members. She loved everything ‘western,’ including riding horses, western movies, and TV shows. She was also a proud, card-carrying member of the NRA. Janeice loved to travel and especially meeting new people and seeing new places. She was a true free spirit.

Janeice is survived by her children Shanynn (Foster) and Sara and Joe (Maurer); her grandchildren, Garrett, Landon, Will, Drew and Luke.  She is also survived by her sister, Jackie, niece, Dawn, and beloved cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jonell.  A celebration of Janeice’s life will be held in Sedona on April 9, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Friends of Amitabha Stupa in Sedona, a peaceful place Janeice loved to visit. https://www.tara.org/featured_post/amitabha-stupa/
