Obituary of Joseph Cole Smith

Joseph Cole Smith

10.10.1994 – 08.29.2022

27 years 10 months 19 days Show Low, AZ

On Monday, August 29, 2022, Joseph passed away at his home in Show Low, AZ. Joseph loved fiercely, enjoyed life to the fullest and his presence will be missed by all. His greatest joy was his children. He enjoyed and marveled at his daughter Aspen who carries his stubborn streak, and he enjoyed the sweetness of his son Novak’s ability to see the beauty in the simple.  Joseph’s first love was skateboarding but also enjoyed rock climbing, and anything that brought him outdoors. Whether by board, by bike, or by foot, he just enjoyed being out in God’s creation. Joseph had an eye for the beauty in the simple and had taken up capturing that beauty on film, putting it on t-shirts and selling them. He had a passion for vehicles and fast cars. He enjoyed every aspect from design to manufacturing and performance. Joseph was creative, tenacious, and stubborn to the core. His death leaves a void in the hearts and lives of everyone who knew him.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Peter J. Smith; and his brother, Donovan G. C. Mungaray, and many other extended family members.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Evie Reeann Harman; his daughter, Aspen Charlotte Smith,  8 yrs. (CO); his son, Novak Dean Peter Smith, 5 yrs. (AZ); his mother, Devra L. Smith (TX); his grandfather, Rene L. Mungaray (AZ); his grandmother Charlotte A. Elliott (TX);  his brother, Ty C. Smith (TX); his uncle, Louie Mungaray (CA); his uncle, Aaron Mungaray (CA); his uncle; David Mungaray (AZ); his uncle, Emmanuel Mungaray (CO); his aunt, Rebecca Heller (TX) and many cousins and extended family.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Journey Church, 750 E. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood, Arizona, with burial to follow at City of Cottonwood Cemetery, 599 N. Main Street, Cottonwood, Arizona.
