Obituary of Chay Ferro
Chay Ferro passed quietly the early morning of July 4. 2013 after a ten month engagement with cancer. The daughter of Virginia Morgan Creps and David Eugene Creps, she was born in Houston, Texas, July 1, 1944. She was proceeded in death by her son Wylld Skye Ferro and her father. She is survived by her mother Virginia Creps Christman and step-father Al Christman of Reno, NV and her brother Jaycee Creps and his wife Cindy of Hebron, MA. Other survivors include her step-sister June Christman, La Habra, Ca; her step--brother Gene Christman, Fullerton, CA; her cousins Michael Kennedy, the Dalles, OR, and Virginia Caley, Rosalee Portillo, and Gene Backus of Las Vegas, NV.
Chay will be remembered for her creativity, her generosity, her organizational skills, her ability to be a good friend, and her love of animals. A member of El Valle Art Association, she won several awards for her creative photography. She was accomplished as an artistic clothing designer, a maker of “dragon boxes,” a creator of pet toys, and as a writer, editor and publisher of books of personalized story telling. Chay was a cartoonist and did spinning of weaving. The spinning was often of pet hair that ended up as sweaters for the owner of the special dog or cat. Her weaving took many forms. As a young adult Chay was a ballet dancer and interpretive dancer.
Always the organizer, Chay worked professionally in the field of business reorganization in California, Nevada and Arizona.
A caring and loving mother, a loving daughter, sister, and aunt, a faithful friend and one always available with cut-to-the-chase words of wisdom, Chay will be missed by many who were blessed top know her.
