Alvin was one of my Dad's(Doc Roberts)best friends. Both men had such great respect for each other and both were genuine cowboys to the core. Alvin was a great friend and will be missed dearly by my family. The memories of Alvin and Valda on the Crooked H will always be treasured.
We had the great pleasure of having Alvin and Valda drive our shuttle vehicles for some of our Verde River trips. It certainly was enjoyable to hear stories about our surroundings as we returned home from our adventures. We are sorry to hear of his family's and our community's loss.
We are very sorry for your loss. Not only did Alvin work with our dad at the Forest Service for many years, but also, I had the pleasure of working with him while he was still with the Forest Service and I was logging. I remember him fondly - an incredible man with a contagious smile and wonderful personality. He will be greatly missed. He was an honest, hard working gentleman who had a positive impact on everyone he met. I believe he is with the Lord and awaiting the time that we will all be reunited.
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Alvin and Valda many years ago when I worked at the Long Valley Café. Alvin and Valda would come into the café to eat when they were up on the mountain either working or just up there relaxing. I really enjoyed all of his stories and he truly had a heart of gold. I haven't seen them for many years after I moved from the mountain, but would run into them once in awhile down here in the Verde Valley. I am so truly sorry for your loss Valda. His smile and the twinkle in his eyes will be missed by all who know him.
I am so sorry for your loss. Alvin was such a wonderful man. Always a smile on his face and a nice word for everyone he met. I will miss seeing him around town.
Nancy & I want to express our condolences to Valda & family. Alvin would be real proud of our son Joe . Joe now lives in Oregon. He owns 17 acres mostly in grass and is raising 28 head of herefords. We have many good memories of your family and our time in Camp Verde.
Valda and family. I am so sorry to read of Alvins passing. I know Alvin is with my dad Millard having coffee and talking about cows.I loved hearing my dad talk about both of you with such admiration and friendship. Alvin will be sorely missed.
