Obituary of Calvert T. Miller
Cal Miller, was born in Highland Park Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. He entered the U.S. Army in March of 1943 and was assigned to the 82 Airborne Division. Cal participated in the Normandy invasion, the Market Garden campaign, and the Battle of the Bulge.
After WWII, Cal spent 22 years with the Arizona Republic newspaper retiring in 1986. Cal was a long time member of the National Rifle Assoc., and enjoyed exploring and camping in the Arizona forest as well as riding dirt bikes and street bikes well into his 80’s. Cal was also a HAM radio operator.
Cal was a born again Christian and served in a number of local churches in Camp Verde and Cottonwood.
