Obituary of Dorothy Macomber Vannah

Dorothy Macomber Vannah, ( who moved from Massachusets in June of 2008) died on December 12, 2014 with family members in Rimrock, Arizona – at the age of 93. She was the wife of the late William E. Vannah (who died in June of 2000). She is survived by her sons: Thomas E Vannah of Deerfield Beach Floriday, William M Vannah of Amherst Mass, and Lincoln Vannah of Paonia Colorado, and by daughters: Gretchen Wilce of Flagstaff Arizona and Karen Vannah of Albany New York – as well as seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Macomber. Mrs Vannah grew up in Augusta, Maine and graduated from Lasell Junior College in Auburndale, Mass. She attended the University of Rhode Island Extension in Providence. She was a secretary at M.I.T. before her marriage; and she was later secretary to the Walpole Planning Board, Conservation Commission, and Industrial Commission. She was active in the United Church of Walpole and the Walpole Food Pantry.
