Obituary of Tennie Jones
Tennie “Venita” Jones born October 28, 1926 passed away on November 27 2014. On Thanksgiving Day after a nice breakfast and a facial from her granddaughter, Tenita, as her grandchildren arrived for the holiday Venita dozed off. She left peaceful with her family around her. Originally from Pittsburg, Oklahoma; she moved to Arizona as a small child and settled in Camp Verde in 1976. She was a business owner, who owned the Adobe Cafe, the Health Food Store and the Laundromat among others. She was a member of the Camp Verde Baptist Church for more than 30 years and worked tirelessly for the “Bread of Life” cooking and serving on their board of directors. She is survived by her son, Asa Jones and his wife, Phyllis; grandchildren, Asa Jones, Jr. (Nancy), Lee Jones (Lisa), Annalea Jones, Michelle Peveto (Mark), Tenita Willyard (Jon), Jacqueline Jamroz, and Samantha Rivenburg; her great grandchildren, Ashton, Allie, Lauren, Jenna, Sherell, Chase, and Virgil; her best friend, Paul Godesiasbois and her many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Rose and all the others who helped care for her. Memorial services will be held at the Camp Verde Baptist Church December 6 at 10:30 am. Donations for the cost of her memorial service would be appreciated instead of flowers. A donation box will be available.
