Obituary of Matthew William Dawson

Matthew William Dawson, 72, of Camp Verde passed away May 26, 2015. He was born December 23, 1942 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Joanna (Hunt) and John Francis Dawson. Matt served our country in the US Marine Corps. Matt was an accomplished marksman and enjoyed shooting sports and the outdoors. Matt was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Matthew Patrick Dawson. He is survived by his companion of 49 years, Carolyn Dawson; his children, Pat Dawson, Walt Dawson (Tracey), Van Dawson, and Paul Dawson; his brother, Daniel Nascimento (Sande) and his sister, Chloe Roles (Pat) ;8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be 10:00am Monday, June 1, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Camp Verde Chapel, 360 S. 5th Street, Camp Verde with a graveside committal to follow at the Dawson Family Cemetery in Camp Verde.
