Obituary of John Chester Skousen Jr.

John Chester Skousen, Jr , after a long illness, passed away peacefully at Valley View Center on January 29, 2018.  John, age 75, was the last male child born at the Jerome Hospital. His father and grandfather preceding him in death, had been employees at the mine smelters in the Jerome area.   His father, John Chester Skousen, Sr. married his Clarkdale High School sweetheart, Melva Myrtle Mounts. 

John’s life took him many places where, for the most part, he worked in the airline industry starting as an Air Traffic Controller in the US Navy, progressing to President of Aspen Airways and later, Vice President of the Americas for British Aerospace.   He was an avid outdoorsman and love to fish and hunt, especially in Alaska and Colorado.  He was also part of an elite society known as The Broomfield McBunch. 

John is survived by Brothers, Russell Bruce Skousen and Eugene C Miller and a Sister, Andrea Loucel as well as three children, Patricia Lee Skousen in Hawaii, John C Skousen III in Colorado and Sandra Lynn Durden in Virginia.  He was blessed with six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services will be withheld for a later date when, together with his wife, Sandra, of 53 years their ashes will be combined and spread around the Rocky Mountains where they spent cherished days camping, hunting and fishing.
