The last time I saw Vi was probably more than a year ago, at the VFW in Camp Verde with Charlie. Although it had been some time since we had last visited, Vi and Charlie both were so glad to see me, as I was to see them. I never heard her say a bad thing about anyone and she always had a smile on her face. Years ago, when I lived in Camp Verde, I saw Vi and Charlie regularly at the VFW or the Legion, where they were both active, and I truly enjoyed the time I got to spend with them. When I graduated from the police academy in Tucson in 1994, we had our graduation dinner at the same hotel where Charlie's U.S.S. Tennessee reunion was being held. Vi and Charlie were busy, but took the time to ask how life was going and to have a drink and a nice, albeit brief visit. I will miss those visits, but I have the wonderful memories that will always be here. May you rest in God's sweet peace dear lady. Say hi to Charlie for me.
