Obituary of Robert Harry Tippett

Robert Harry Tippett, 78 of Lewiston, ID, passed away peacefully and with dignity December 2, 2018 in Anthem, Az. He was born September 30, 1940 in Fresno, CA to Esther Harriette and Fenton LaFollette Tippett.

After graduating from Laos, Altos High School and San Jose State University, he began a successful career as businessman, entrepreneur and elected official. His endeavors included found Data IV in 1970 with Ken Stanhope in Yuma, AZ, where he was also first elected to the office of City Councilman in 1974, serving two four year terms.

After serving as Mayor of Yuma from 1990-94, and subsequently selling two of his businesses, Bob embarked on a career in economic development that ultimately led him to Lewiston ID, where he retired in 2010.

Not one to sit idle, Bob reentered the world of public service as an elected county commissioner for Nez Perce Count, Idaho until being forced to resign due to health on October 2, 2018, two months before his passing.

Bob’s civic duty and involvement is too extensive to list but he was especially fond of the formative time he spent with the Caballeros de Yuma.  Bob’s work ethic, honesty and kindness inspired his children who were very proud of their father.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother Alan. He is survived by his fraternal twin brother Richard (Mary Skinner) Tippett, his daughter Lisa (Scott) Tice, Bill (Nancy) Tippett, Steve (Kelly) Tippett and his many grandchildren.
