Babe and family, my heart is broken upon hearing the news of John's passing. The only thing that gives me joy in this is knowing he and Nanci are up there, telling jokes to each other and cooking up some good barbeque. Please know that I send my love and deepest sympathy from North Carolina.

I served with John on the Planning and Zoning Committee for the last several years. I was always impressed at how thoughful John was in considering each of the issues we had to resolve. For that and many other reasons, I always tried to sit next to him at each of our bimonthly meetings. We very much missed him at the last few meetings and will continue to miss him long into the future. I am sorry I was not able to attend his service and express my sympathy to you in person.
Warm Regards. Jim Peterson

I meet John shortly after I moved to town close to twelve years ago. He was bigger than life and I will miss him. He said what he meant and meant what he said. He will be missed but never forgotten. Life cut to short. My heart felt sympathy to his loving family.

Babe, It was a wonderful service today and a privilege to attend. John was an amazing man and I was so blessed to know him for a such too short period of time. Being an old Navy Corpsman and him being a Marine, there was kind of a natural bonding and he was one of the few people I actually enjoyed attending meetings with, what you saw is what you got...love people like that! 8 of my 20 years in the military were stationed with the Marines. We were very close in age so I appreciate his experiences. You and family please take care and if you ever need anything, I can be found. God Bless, John

At this time I would like to express my gratitude to John's family for all of the kind things John did for my son and others who were athletes at Camp Verde High School John was always willing to help any of the kids who participated in football or wrestling and never hesitated to offer help or advise and he spent countless hours helping others. I will never forget what John did for the kids and I think most of the kids will feel that way.

John was a larger than life man with an even bigger heart for his family, community and country. Growing up in the Verde Valley I cant recall a time when John wasn't right there to lend a helping hand to his fellow neighbor or lend his time and guidance to the Camp Verde Football and Wrestling teams. I worked for Babe and John at the restaurant for a few years and will never forget Johns humor and antics. My heart breaks for your family John was a great man! My family is sending our love and prayers to you Babe, Frankie, Josh and Jeremy.
