Obituary of Lenore F. Mattia
Lenore F. Mattia, 72, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 2, 2019 at home and surrounded by her loving family. Lee, as she was known by all who loved her, lived a full life.
Lee was born in Rosebank, Staten Island, NY on September 22, 1946 to William and Alice Parsons. She attended Saint John Villa Academy High School and St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. On August 7, 1955, Lenore Parsons married Ron Mattia. Ron and Lee established Mattia’s Art and Glass Studio located in Staten Island. They owned and operated the successful business until 1999.
Lee and Ron moved to Cottonwood, AZ in 1999. In 2010, she was Home In Stead’s “Caregiver of the Year”.
Lee was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and a caring matriarch to many. She enjoyed taking care of everyone who came to visit and made those visitors feel like family. An accomplished cook, Lee was well-known for delicious meals and her beautifully set tables. She also enjoyed the outdoors: the red rocks of Sedona, hiking, and her flower gardens. One of her favorite pastimes was reading a good book.
Lenore is survived by her husband Ron of 54 years; two sons Ron, and his wife Stephanie; Randall, and his wife Mary; grandchildren Randi Alex, Chloe', Angeline, Nico, Isaac, and Naomi; and by brothers and sisters Glenna, June, William, Ronald and Richard.
A celebration of life for Lee will be held on Thursday, April 25th beginning at 2:00 PM at Ron and Le's Cottonwood farm. Help us honor Le's love and expertise of hosting by joining us for love, light and laughter. You are welcome to bring your favorite dish to share with us as we celebrate the life of Le'.
