Obituary of Arthur Jack Dykhuis

Arthur Jack Dykhuis, age 66 went to be with our Lord Sunday, December 1, 2019 at his home in Rimrock, AZ. Artie is survived by his brother Jeff Dykhuis, sister-in-law Karla, his sisters Sandi Johnson and her husband James, sister Cyndi Burgess and nieces and nephews. Arthur was born in Hammond, Indiana December 30, 1952 to Arthur and Gertrude (Kortenhoeven) Dykhuis. Art attended Highland Christian School, Illiana Christian High School, Dordt College in Iowa, Yavapai College and Northern Arizona University, he obtained a Liberal Arts Degree. Art was well versed in many subjects through his love of “well written” books ranging from History, Philosophy and Religion, to novels and origins of foods. He traveled extensively throughout the USA and its territories as a superintendent of construction for airport navigational aids. He appreciated the relationships he developed through work and AA. Art was a talented carpenter, electrician and overall tradesman. He appreciated and enjoyed woodworking in his home garage. He had recently retired. Arthur said he would like to be remembered as a “lovable curmudgeon” . There are no services planned.
