Obituary of William H. Johnson

William "Bill" Howard Johnson, 81, of Sedona, Arizona, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Peoria, Illinois, in 1938 to the late Robert and Mildred Johnson. Bill is survived by his wife, Marcia, and his children, Donny Rossetti (Audrey) and Staci Volker (Zach); grandchildren, Taylor, Braedon, Dakota, Hudson, Chase and Cora. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Johnson. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Cindy, and his sister Sharon. Bill's family moved from Peoria, Illinois, to Fresno, California, when Bill was 7 years of age, and he lived there until graduating from college. He then moved to Dallas, Texas, to attend and graduate from Dallas Theological Seminary. His career in ministry started in Flagstaff, Arizona, where he was a campus pastor at Northern Arizona University for 20 years (founded ministry of Campus Ambassadors). He raised his daughter Cindy with former spouse, Lois Johnson, during that time. He pursued his doctorate and later became a Christian psychologist. Six years later, he met his wife, Marcia, and they have been married for 28 years. Bill was an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting with his brother, flying his airplane to the California Coast, and hiking in the Sierras. Bill's memorial will be Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 1:00 PM at VERDE VALLEY CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 406 S 6th Street, Cottonwood, AZ 86326. Donations may be made to a Charities of choice.
