Scot served in the army in occupied Japan after V-day. On the GI bill he graduated from the University of La Verne with a BA in History. He married Betty Louise Williams in 1957. They had 3 children: Margaret (Meg), David and Florence. Scot had a 40-year career as an elementary school teacher in La Puente, CA. After retiring he operated Telepal in Pomona CA, a phone line for latchkey kids who could call for homework help. He was a life-long Methodist serving at Trinity United Methodist, Pomona as the Sunday School Superintendent for many years and then in the homeless feeding program. In Sedona he was a member of Sedona United Methodist where he tutored ESL until recently. He delivered meals on wheels and ferried folks to Dr. appts and shopping through Verde Valley Caregivers up until 2018. Scot will be remembered for his unconditional giving to his church and his family.
Scot is survived by his 2 daughters Meg Munro and Florence McGuire (Paul), his 2 grandchildren Flint and Talitha McGuire and his brother Jim Munro and nieces Carol Yurkas, Nancy Goddard and Gina Munro. He is preceded in death by his parents John W and Florence Munro, his brother John Munro, his wife Betty and his son David.
