Obituary of Gayla Sue Bain
Gayla Sue Bain of Sedona, AZ passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the age of 67. She was born in Madison, SD on March 6, 1953. She graduated from Madison High School in 1971 and later studied to become a medical transcriptionist, holding credentials from Health Information Management. This is a position she worked in for over 45 years. For many years during this time she also prepared taxes for H&R Block during the high season.
Gayla was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching football, a good television show and liked taking in a movie from time to time. Gayla couldn’t turn down a root beer barrel or Twizzlers. She was an amazing cook and baker and made the best rhubarb cake topped with half & half. With her Norwegian background, she brought a tradition of making the most delicious lefse for Christmas that will be carried on by her daughter and daughter in law. The whole family looked forward to enjoying her creations when together. Gayla was an intelligent, detail-oriented person. Her mind was quick and she never missed anything. Her greatest joy came when spending time with her family and many laughs were shared in these moments.
Gayla is preceded in death by her son Royce Bain, parents Oscar and Georgia Sjoland and sisters Lynette Johnson and Donna Elston.
She is survived by her son Ryan Bain and his wife Amanda Bain, daughter Stacey Stork and her husband Bob Stork and grandson Logan Bain. She is further survived by her siblings David and Gerri Sjoland, Mike Sjoland, Bob and Vonda Sjoland and Sandra Sjoland as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
No formal funeral services are planned at this time.
