Obituary of Ernest L Diehl

Ernest L. Diehl, 90, who resided in Cornville, Arizona for the last 4+ years, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2020. He was born in Girard, Pennsylvania on July 4, 1930 to the late Ernest and Pearl Camp Diehl. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1943 with his mother. He spent his youth as a golf caddie at the Phoenix Country Club. He became an incredibly talented golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1950. He was married to Barbara Maurer Diehl for 57 years. He worked at the Sky Harbor Arizona Air National Guard Base as a supply Master Sergeant for 35 years. He was an active member and served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara, and his daughter, Patricia. Ernie is survived by his sons, John, Eddie and Barry; twelve grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful Dad and Grandpa. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Valley of the Sun Cemetery, 10904 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, Arizona 85248.
