Obituary of Nadine Espinoza Honwytewa

Nadine Espinoza Honwytewa, age 55, of Camp Verde, went to be with the Lord May 5, 2021. She passed while at her home in Middle Verde, Az. Nadine Espinoza Honwytewa was born July 20, 1965 in Keams Canyon to Louis Calvin Honwytewa and Marion Whagado. Nadine began her life in Hopi, Second Mesa in the Shungopavi Village with her 13 siblings. She was a happy cheerful child who adored her father. She, of course, was the apple of her father’s eye. Later in 1978, the family relocated to Clarkdale, Arizona. There she excelled in school and loved cheerleading. She enjoyed sharing her love of cheerleading with her mother and siblings. She attended Mingus Union High School for a short period of time. In 1980, she began to start a little family of her own. During this time she worked diligently to earn her high school diploma. Nadine graduated with Honors from Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona. Nadine also earned her Paralegal Certification, Bachelor’s Degree, and Masters in Criminal Justice. She achieved this with High Honors and on the Dean’s List. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa as well. She truly worked hard to continue her education and raise a family of five. Nadine was a pillar in her community, and in the Potter’s House Church. She truly made an impact not only in Camp Verde but across the states. She truly believed in second chances and wanted everyone to succeed in life. She worked diligently and strived for the best for her family. Nadine loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed transforming her yard into a beautiful garden. During her free time and throughout her life she loved drawing and painting. While working with the Yavapai-Apache Nation, she met many people and helped changed many people’s lives. Those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Nadine Espinoza is survived by four daughters and son: Saundra Lopez, Cesar Lopez Sr. (Son-in-law), Crystal Garcia, Violet Honwytewa, Rosalio Gutierrez “Junior”, and Nadine “Precious” Gutierrez. She was so proud of her 13 grandchildren: Cesar Lopez Jr., Josiah Alfonso Lopez, Josie Rose Lopez, Star Rose Lopez, Angel Aldana, Violet Aldana Honwytewa, Arieana Rizo, Isaac Honwytewa, Claudia Rose Sanchez, Calvin Louis Gutierrez Selina Rose Sanchez, Ramarrion Gutierrez, Raejai Gutierrez.
