Obituary of Johnnie Ruiz Jr.
Johnnie Ruiz Jr., 98 passed away peacefully in Cottonwood, AZ on Saturday June 12, 2021. Johnnie was born in San Marcial, NM on February 17, 1923. He lived in Albuquerque, until he moved to Flagstaff, AZ in 1964 with his wife, Geneva Ruiz. In 1972, Johnnie and Geneva moved to Camp Verde and he retired in 1985.
Johnnie built the flagpole, and cross at the St. Frances Cabrini Parish Church in Camp Verde. He loved dancing, gardening, and tinkering in his tool shed.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva; 7 children, Irene Ortega, Manuel Ruiz, Helen Saiz, John V. Ruiz, Rosanna Ruiz, Jenise Nava and Audry Smith; 27 grandchildren; 45 great- grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21st at 11:00am at the St. Frances Cabrini Parish Church in Camp Verde.
