Obituary of Penelope Anne Genter
It is with a heavy heart that the family of Penelope (Penny) Genter announces the passing of their beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on June 15, 2021. Penny was born on June 18, 1942 in Ft. Worth, TX to Charles Lawrence Mitchell and Dorothy Jane Smith, both of which preceded her in death. She was a widow at the time of her death but had been married to Tom Claude Graham III, Gene S. Shrum, and Gordon L. Genter, all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Cheryl E. Mitchell of Corrales, NM; daughters Sharon K. Carroll of Alta Loma, CA and Cassandra A Shrum, of Albuquerque, NM, and sons Mitchell L. Shrum of Sedona, AZ and Curtis J. Shrum of Sam’s Valley, OR; six step-children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Penny was a resident of Sedona, AZ since 2010 and a Chaplain at the Unity Church. Per her request, no public memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that a donation be made to Greenpeace.
