Talking to Georgia...
Oh, Georgia, we miss you So Much! You slipped away so quietly, almost as if you thought we wouldn’t notice... But we did, and will, for as long as we keep the memories and stories alive in our hearts and minds. Your spirit is still here, wrapped around us, loving us.
My special memories of you are filled with your smiling eyes and quick laughter, your soft curls and warm hugs, your fashion flair. You had a way with unusual compliments, such as “she has beautiful shoulders and arms!” You loved hardware stores and Home Depot, sunsets and Happy Hours. You readily accepted and loved all of this crazy extended family, offering thoughtful advice and help whenever needed, attending weddings, graduations, funerals and all sorts of family events, joining in with enthusiasm and warmth.
Georgia, I’m so grateful to have had you in my life for these too quickly passed 31 years. Please keep your beautiful spirit around us all.

So many memories, but this one was so magical; you and Georgia in your own wonderful world of love. At our last American Legion Open Mic, we suddenly learned it was being cancelled. This would be the last night of that magical musical mystery tour Ron & Georgia created. All those beautiful events of coming together and sharing musical community, gone in a puff of smoke. As we all were digesting this and having our own reactions, I looked back and saw Rollin & Georgia, dancing with the ease and comfort and grace many years brings. They were like perfect harmony in a world of their own, celebrating all the joy that came from these open mics.
I loved the moment, and the message: celebrate the moment. We have our past and we have this moment, and it’s so very good indeed. I was spellbound; didn’t have my phone to capture it, but drank in the sheer beauty of that expression of steadfast love and harmony.
I will always keep it. Thank you Ron & Georgia for sharing your lives with all of us. Kathy Trusdell

Thank you, Kathy! I remember that night. That open mic was great fun, and I love your metaphor of the magical mystery tour. I think we were dancing to the music of the cowboy band that was finishing up before our open mic. I wish I could remember the song.

G was such a bright spot in my life. Never met a more unique & memorable combination of compassion & spunk in one beautiful package. Making music with her and sharing time was pure joy ❤ looking forward to giving you the biggest hug on the other side G ❤

I think the sweetest memories that I hold of Georgia and Ron were their handholding. I caught this picture of them during a “Tommy” show at Page Springs Cellars. Never did I see them sit anywhere without touch.Their love and affection for one another was always evident and brought me joy each and every time I was witness to their love story.

Thank you for that, Joan. Someone said that the best relationships are those where each thinks they are getting more than they deserve. I still can hardly believe my good fortune in finding love with Georgia, and never wanted to take it for granted. She was every bit as affectionate in return.

Ron and Georgia walked into my store at 10:15 AM on July 1, 2014 and were my first customers on my first day. Georgia made sure that Ron bought an ukulele from me, as she told him that it would break my heart if they didn’t buy something.
Little did I know that they soon become some of my dearest friends. They were there by my side when I formed the Jerome Ukulele Orchestra. We've shared some great stages and some great memories ... I can still hear Georgia say "This is all your fault ..." (that they have so many friends here in the Verde Valley). For months now I've been singing the song "Georgia" at my shows, and I will will continue evermore singing it. Georgia, you'll always be on my mind ... XO, Tommy Anderson

Music is what brought us together - playing open mics, ukulele with the Jerome Ukulele Orchestra, and performing with the Funshine Band (rehearsing at your home). She and I bonded in our desire to overcome performance anxiety. The regular open mics you hosted at American Legion really helped with that, Ron. I always looked forward to when the two of you performed as a duo, especially the quirky songs that Georgia really made her own ("Fire Up The Weed" springs to mind)! Kind, generous, with a brilliantly quick wit and wonderful sense of humor...she was a gem. Here are a few pics I've taken over the years...as well as a Funshine Band group photo taken by Danny Smith at our 'first official gig'. ~ Much love to you, Ron. . .Cathy (and Paul)

I didn't know Georgia well although we both grew up in El Paso, went to the same high school (she was two years younger than I), and we had some mutual friends. We were Facebook friends and we shared the same disgust for Donald Trump and she and I and our husbands shared a couple of pleasant meals and a few drinks. I found her bright, intelligent, energetic, and engaged. She will be missed.

Georgia and I became friends in 5th grade and remained friends throughout our high school years. We were in Girl Scouts together and have fond and funny memories of our taking the bus to downtown El Paso to go to the Cortez Hotel to take "charm lessons" to earn a badge for scouts. I lost track of her in the early 1970"s but ran into her older sister a few years ago and learned she was living in California. It breaks my heart to learn of her passing. Rest in peace, dear friend. I'll never forget you

I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Georgia through the Jerome Ukulele Orchestra, where she surprised me with her sweet countenance yet caustic and hilarious sense of humor. I loved laughing with her. I will miss her dearly. Love you, Georgia!!

Thank you. Well said, I love your phrase “sweet countenance yet caustic and hilarious sense of humor”. She didn’t hesitate to build upon that by singing songs with hilariously caustic lyrics, which delighted her audience. I couldn’t have been prouder.

Here is a photo from one of the many fun times I spent in LA with Georgia and Rollin. She was always up for going to see live music including one time when we went to see the Australian satirist/singer/pianist Tim Minchin. He has some pretty raunchy lyrics but Georgia loved it and was not offended in the least. After the show we got a chance to meet Tim in the lobby, and I remember him calling out “Bye, Aunt Georgia!” as we left. I will really miss visiting with Georgia and having “adventures in dining” which is what she always said about trying new foods or food combinations. RIP to a great lady. ❤️
