Obituary of Sherrie Lynn Thomas
Sherrie Lynn Maher Thomas was born October 28, 1945 in Auburn, California and died unexpectedly at her home in Camp Verde, Arizona on September 9, 2021.
Sherrie's father, Patrick Maher Sr. and her husband Jack Thomas of Bellaire, Ohio were both in the military. Being in a military family, Sherrie lived, went to school and worked at various places in the U.S., France and Germany.
Sherrie is predeceased by her parents and her husband. Her main priority in life was to provide a loving home for her sons, Jack Thomas (Jenny) and Robert Thomas ( Adele).
She is survived by her brothers, Patrick, Raymond, and Michael Maher; 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 6 great grandchildren, 2 nephews, 4 nieces and 11 great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a half- sister, Darlene Hatton of Texas.
Sherrie's passions in life were little children, animals and the elderly. All her life she fondly remembered her grandparents Arthur and Veena Maher of Esparto, California and the trips they took her and brother Patrick on. When her father was in Korea, they lived in Liberal, Kansas with her step-mother Maria Maher and the Martinez family. She always had the best memories of Maria Martinez Maher, who was the only Mother Sherrie ever knew. She especially enjoyed talking to her many friends and family in California, Ohio and Virginia. Sherrie's favorite places that she lived were Bellaire, Ohio and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where her husband and brother, Patrick were stationed and also was where her sons were born.
Wherever she lived, Sherrie worked as a waitress, a veterinary assistant and retired from Boeing shortly after her husband died in 2004.
Her family is shocked and saddened by this great loss and will always love and remember their Mother, Aunt and only sister.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00am Friday, September 24, 2021 at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery - 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85267
