Obituary of Ellen Therese Alves

Elle Alves (Ellen Therese Schaeffer) of Sedona, Arizona passed away on November 27, 2021, after a battle with cancer. Elle was born in Greenwich, Connecticut on March 5, 1962. Her parents along with her older brother Frank moved out to California settling in the Carmel Valley area where Elle grew up and attended Carmel High School.

Elle was married to her husband Mauricio Alves for over 30 years. They have two sons, named Maurice and Frank. The couple resided in Santa Cruz, CA. for many years. Elle and her husband lived for a brief period in Brazil before moving out from California to Phoenix and eventually Sedona where she felt most at peace.

Raised by two artistic parents, Elle graduated from San

Francisco State University with a degree in painting. She painted in acrylics and her favorite subjects were nature and animals.

Elle was a beautiful spirit and kind friend. She enjoyed hiking in the desert with her dogs Samba & Zeus, rock collecting, visits to Jerome, and horseback riding.

Elle was surpassed in death by her parents, Therese, and Phillip Schaeffer. She is survived by her husband, Mauricio, her sons

Maurice, and Frank (all of Sedona, Arizona) and her brothers; Frank (FJ) Schaeffer of Saint Helena, CA. , Anton Labrentz of Shafter, CA. and Phillip Schaeffer of Kingston, NY.

A Celebration of Life for Elle is forthcoming and to be held in Sedona, Arizona.
