Obituary of Rex Dell Backus

Rex Dell Backus, 81, of Camp Verde, Arizona passed away on April 14, 2016 in Cottonwood, Arizona. He was born on September 12, 1934 in Orem, Utah to James Albert and Lula May Backus. He was an aerospace mechanical designer in Phoenix, Arizona until 1997. Rex was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He belonged to the Arizona Knife Makers Association. Some of his hobbies included knife making, dutch oven cooking, ammo reloading, hunting, camping and reading. Rex is survived by his wife Loene Marler Backus and five children, Allen Dell Backus, Richard J Backus, LuAnn Backus Lindsay, Kristine Backus Black and Michael Kent Backus. Sisters; Betty Park, Bonnie Davis, Karen Kleinman, Judy Nelson and Brother Bob Backus; 24 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, Visitation will be held at 10am on Saturday, April 23rd at the LDS church in Camp Verde 360 S. 5th Street . Funeral/Memorial Service will be at 11am April 23rd at the LDS church in Camp Verde 360 S. 5th Street Place of Interment will be Middle Verde Cemetery in Camp Verde 2000-2334 W Middle Verde Rd In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grand Canyon Council, BSA grandcanyonbsa.org
