James Meckem

Obituary of James E. Meckem

James E. Meckem "Jim", 59, passed away at his home in Camp Verde on Sunday, February 21, 2016. He is survived by his wife Tina; daughters, Jami (Tom) Archer and Jessica (Shane) Griffin; son, John Meckem,; sisters Christina Vess and Patricia (Dan) Brotzler; 10 grandchildren, 13 nephews and 6 nieces. Jim followed his passion for heavy equipment as a career and his final job was with Yavapai County as blademan. Jim loved the outdoors. Many vacations with family and friends revolved around camping, hunting and fishing. The outdoors was his church and the place he felt closest to God. In order to honor that belief Jim's family will have a celebration of his life on Saturday, March 12th, 2016 at 11am at Stoneman Lake. If weather permits an early opening of Apache Maid Headquarters, the event will be moved to that location. Please bring your cooler of beverages, camp chairs, picnic lunch and join our family for the day. Our grandchildren will be joining us so all children are welcome. It is an affirmation of moving forward with the joy of children's laughter as they play in Jim's church. In lieu of flowers our family requests donations to any charity in Jim's name.
