Barb and I loved this amazing man. We have never been members of the LDS church but in him we saw what the best could be. Simply stated he was the most important man in my life. He taught me so much most of it without saying a word. Jim and Barb Williams June 26 2022

President Huber was my mission president. I loved that man. Boy did he get you to work hard! He would always say to us missionaries “They don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”. I’ve made that a family motto. All of my kids(5 and 5 foster) know that motto. And they all know how to work hard. You’ll be missed president.

I am so sorry for your loss. As you know already, he was such a great man! He was principle at Peoria HS when I was in grade school, early 70's. My older sister was in High school at that time and also loved him. I was a convert to the church in 1975, and through the years got to personally know him through the church. When my husband and I were sealed in the Mesa Temple in 2003, he was a sealer at that time. I had asked him if he would do the honors and he did! I think maybe in the 80's sometime, he was Peoria Stake President. I was in Peoria Stake. He is a very special man and impacted so many lives! I love him so much and he will be greatly missed by all!!

I, along with all the Alumni of Peoria High School, remember Mr Huber as a good man, a kind man, and a friend to all of us who were under his care in High School. It was an honor to see him at our 50th Class Reunion in 2012. He had a easy laugh and he cared about all of us even when we were no longer under his care. Rest in Peace Mr. Huber and be with the loved ones who preceded you to your final home.

I know you as a family know what a great man Pres. Huber is! But I would also like to let you know what he has meant to me in my life. Who is going to flick me in the neck now? haha
Where did I meet him first? It was at the Columbus, Ohio Airport, and he took one look at me and asked me why I was there. Sis. Brown you are not suppose to be here for another month. So began our friendship. He kept me near the mission home for all but 7 mon.,but even then I saw him every week. So I had the privilege of really getting to know him and Sis. Huber. I even had to stay at the mission home for a week or so as we were short Sis. Sis Huber was my companion.
He became my "spiritual" Giant. I loved the things I learned from him and they have helped me the rest of my life so far. They were also like my parents away from home. He supported us missionaries the best way he could, and I know he had to deal with some very hard situations while out there, as he confided in me, many of them. My dad had cancer when I went out, and Pres. let me phone them once a month for awhile, just to make sure he was ok. He knew I didn't take advantage of it and I wasn't homesick.
The Elders were afraid of him until they got to know him, and found out he was just a big teddy bear. But he had a lot of work ahead of him, in getting the missionaries working well. Because he could get the best out of most of the missionaries, we were the top baptizing mission in the Eastern States, and taught more men. That is really good! It says a lot about him and how he got us all to work well!
There are quite a few other things that Pres. had my companion and I do, and a few other missionaries. I felt very close to him. I have always felt very close. Since our missions have ended, and we have kept in contact.
Pres. and Sis. Huber came to Alberta and stayed with my folks and we took them around. Also visiting the other Albert missionaries. He also came along ways(from San Diego) to visit me when we had moved to Alameda. Cal. They made me feel so good! I had the privilege of staying with them a few times when they lived in Mesa and Cottonwood. The last time was about 5 years ago, with another elder, his wife and son. I was so glad my one daughter got to meet him then too. I have always told my kids, family & friends about my wonderful Mission Pres and his wife.
I talked to him just before Christmas, and I could tell he was very lonely like he was when our first SIs. Huber passed away. He'd always say he's just getting old and slowing down. I would say he has aged very well, as he looked pretty good!
Quite a few of my friends who have moved to Phoenix, gone to school, or what ever, I told them to look him up in the temple, and they have. Some have worked with him there, and just love him!!!
When I went through my most hardest trial so far, Pres. was there phoning me every two weeks, to see how I was doing. I could always feel his love and support. He wanted to help my kids with their missions also. Very generous!!!! But we were ok.
He always asked what I was doing in the church and hoping I was growing. I was! He would have gotten after me if I hadn't been. :)
Taking care of his sweet brides, he did very well, and his example was great on how a husband and wife should treat one another. One was the importance of eternal marriages of which he helped perform so many of.
There are so many other things, but I don't know the words to describe what he meant to me. I love him very much, and I will miss him so very much!
But I do know that he has had a wonderful reunion with both Sis. Hubers. and all his other family members and friends, and I look forward to being with them again.
Yes Carolyn, you are right, he lived a very good life!!! A wonderful Man!!!!
Love you Pres. from your little Canook! Marva-Jean

I was one of President Huber’s missionaries in Columbus, OH. When I first met President I was very nervous around him as we did not get to know each other for a few months. I was then transferred to work in the office and for three months I worked closely with President Huber and his wife. I became very close to him and appreciated his spirit, insite and love for the missionaries. We studied scriptures together every morning and I was amazed how the scriptures came alive during those months. President Huber changed my perspective as a missionary and he helped me become a better person. I love the man for the difference he made in my life and I will ever be grateful that I was able to know him. I am sorry for his passing but am sure the reunion in heaven is great with him returning home.

It was an honor to know Mr. Huber as a PHS student and as an adult. We visited him many times in his home in the past few years and got to know him on a totally different level. He loved reminiscing about PHS times. He remembered his students, the year they attended, who they were friends with and events that surrounded them. My condolences and prayers go out to the family. He was a remarkable man and he will truly be missed.

Thank you to the family of Mel Huber for sharing him with so many people for so many years. He confirmed me a member of the church and 6 years ago sealed my husband and I in the temple. He was part of my life...and the lives of thousands for many decades. He loved us all...and especially loved his family and his savior Jesus Christ. He is now our angel in heaven watching over us all still. May our Father in Heaven bless you now and always.
