I served with Dash in Colorado, we did a lot of ammo related things together. He was a great soldier, an even better NCO who cared greatly for his soldiers. I am deeply saddened to hear of his loss and I send thoughts, prayers, and hugs your way. I may not have known his family but I know how much he loved you.

Cheatham was one of the finest Soldiers I had ever had the privilege to have served with. I was his First Sergeant in Afghanistan and sat on his promotion board to Sergeant. After returning from his Mid-tour leave he spoke of how he wasn't sure the Army was going to be his "Forever thing". I assured him that he will know what to do when the time comes. I have been following him on Facebook since I retired and he discharged. He never seemed to be mad about his ordeal and always posted about his wife and Kids. My prayers are with you Dash and for the loving family you left behind.
